Headspace.com is by far the most established subscription service supporting newcomers to meditation.

Local resources
The authors commute from outside of the city and so don't have personal experience of any of the meditation centres in Birmingham, Worcester or surrounding areas.
A handy online guide to where to meditate in the city can be found at freemeditationinfo.com's site One of the authors does have experience of the classes run at a Buddhist Centre elsewhere in the UK and the Birmingham Centre run equivalents Events at the University of Birmingham's Chaplaincy include a regular meditation session.
